The next step

There are so many wonderful people who are apart of this organization who put in their time money resources, etc to help create a better life for these young woman who have been battered and driven to slavery. I am so excited at the possiblilities of this group of people and all that can be accomplished with the mindset and love that everyone has in their hearts.

Unfortunately like everything else it takes money to keep this going as well as resources mainly being a house that will enable the girls to stay.

I would like to set up some different fundraising events to help raise the necessary funding to do right by these girls. I have done some events in the past for Surfriders foundation and through that have a pretty good handle on how one is done but am looking for some ideas to not only raise the money but also the awareness that this lifestle is going on right in the streets of San Diego and yet many people have no idea.

Once you take a look at the video I would appreciate some feedback on some ideas for a great fundraising event that you think would be great for the organization as well as the community to bring awareness to the problem affecting young girls today.

The true reason for the Blog/ what its all about

So my name is Heather and I am new to this world of blogging. I am hoping to get some ideas and influence from other bloggers who may have some fundraising ideas or who may want to donate and may even want to get involved with a new organization that I can proudly say I am working with. They are called the Hidden Treasures and they are founded by the Rock Church

The main purpose of this group is to show these girls there is another way of life and they dont have to continue to live this way any longer. There is two processes to this the first is of course "the rescue" which is talking to these girls while they are on the streets alot of times these girls will not reach out right away but by being there we are putting that bug in their ear so when they are ready they know where to go.

Once they have made the decision to try another way of life this is where the work really begins for them as well as us.

The next steps is to get them into a 2 day temporary housing somewhere where they will be safe and we can evaluate them to see where their needs are at, every girl has a different story and a different treatment plan. Some of these girls have suffered some kind of abuse whether physically and almost all of them mentally, some have addictions problems others have physical needs that need to be taken care of as quickly as possible.

Once we get the girls evaluated then there is a need to find more permanent housing transitional somewhere safe where we can get the girls in and have their different needs met.

Each girl like I said will have a different plan of attack and must be treated differently
